Originally intended as a roadmap for a larger canvas, these works on \u003cb data-index-in-node=\"147\" data-path-to-node=\"6\"\u003eHahnemühle bamboo paper\u003c\/b\u003e eventually led me toward a new creative direction.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-path-to-node=\"7\"\u003e   Though the final canvas was set aside, these pieces stand as a complete meditation on the architecture of a rose. I used the tension between deep red and blue pigments to explore opacity and translucency, layering acrylics to find the threshold where shadow becomes light.
